Collection: Fine Gray Sea Salt
Fine gray sea salt starts out as coarse gray sea salt.
It is hand gathered at Guérande, dried in a stone oven kept below 110°F so the trace minerals stay intact, then ground on stones in the traditional manner used for centuries.
The result measures and mixes like table salt but tastes like the marsh it came from. It blends into batters and doughs without clumping, which makes it the easier of the two grays for baking. Use about two thirds of the amount of table salt a recipe calls for.
It also works well in a neti pot. One quarter teaspoon per pot of warm water, please.
